Structure d'accueil
Mines Paris-PSL is one of the most prestigious engineering schools in France. Mines Paris-PSL is a public institution that trains generalist engineers through an innovative and multidisciplinary educational approach (engineering sciences and social sciences and humanities). Its affiliation with PSL University, which ranks among the top 50 in international rankings, represents a real opportunity to enrich academic paths.
Your environment :
The Centre de Gestion Scientifique (CGS), a member of the Interdisciplinary Institute for Innovation (i³, CNRS Joint Research Unit 9217), is a leading research center in management sciences. It combines theoretical modeling and empirical studies of collective action and has contributed to major scientific advances that help address contemporary transitions—such as design theory (C-K theory), the concept of the physical internet in logistics, and the governance of innovative companies (including the société à mission model).
The center has a strong record of collaborative and partnership-based research. It leads several teaching and research chairs and participates in national and international research programs. Its faculty regularly publish in leading journals and have received numerous awards and distinctions. The center contributes high-level teaching to all programs of Mines Paris – PSL, with the ambition of preparing students—both in initial and executive education—to meet the socio-economic and environmental challenges of the future.
Mission
Your challenges and responsibilities :
Mines Paris – PSL’s CGS seeks to strengthen its expertise in management sciences in the field of responsible corporate governance and, more broadly, the governance of just transitions.
Contemporary transitions (ecological, energy, and others), whose urgency is exacerbated by current impasses and shortcomings, call for new models of collective action—models that are both effective and capable of addressing issues of social justice among interdependent socio-economic actors at all scales.
If companies can credibly and sustainably innovate around social and environmental issues, the governance of transitions nevertheless raises many challenges. How can we foster diversity in transition pathways beyond the mere aggregation of local improvements? How can coherence be achieved among governance mechanisms (rules of sharing, rights, and responsibilities) that operate at very different levels—individual, organizational, territorial, national, and international? How can individual corporate commitments be coordinated within broader ecosystems while maintaining fairness among actors? And how can the instruments supporting transitions (sustainability metrics, labels, incentive policies, taxes, etc.) be transformed to encourage cooperative and creative trajectories?
Mines Paris has been a pioneer in developing contemporary approaches to corporate governance, which now play a central role in its curricula. The school now seeks to build on this leadership by advancing research and teaching on the governance of transitions.
The candidate will contribute to ongoing research on governance of transitions, notably within the framework of the research program of the Chair “Theory of the Enterprise: Governance Models and Collective Creation.” He or she will also contribute to teaching at the CGS, particularly within the Ingénieur Civil program (core curriculum, elective courses, and specialized modules coordinated by the CGS). The candidate will be expected to help develop and adapt these courses in connection with their research activities and in response to the growth of both initial and executive education programs at the school.
