The Grand Seiko Area Sales Manager is responsible for the development of France & Benelux wholesale business by building long-term relationships with retailers and key partners. The Area Sales Manager will be responsible for increasing market share, driving merchandising excellence and improving assortment potential with a focus on sell-out achievement to reach sell-in objectives.
Main Responsibilities
Business Development:
* Develop and implement a plan to achieve sales targets (sell-in and sell-out).
* Stay connected to the competitive landscape, market trends, and broader economy to find opportunities and threats and propose new projects.
* Review and optimize brand distribution and recommend account or POS openings and closures under the guidance of the GS Europe Sales Director
* Track and analyze business performance (sales by door, product collection, turnover, market share, month of inventory, ratio sell-out/sell-in) and adjust sales and marketing actions accordingly.
* Ensure compliance with retailer use of Warranty Activation System. Objective of 100% completion rate for all Grand Seiko sold.
* Collect and share internally the feedback from retailers, consumers, and competitors with regards to sales, products, and marketing activity.
* Actively participate to Watches & Wonders Fair
Sales:
* Build strong relationships with customers at all levels – owners, general managers, store managers, and retail staff to drive sell out in all doors.
* Lead commercial negotiations to define sell-out/sell-in objectives with the customer and negotiate space, location, and investments.
* Regularly visit points of sale to keep Grand Seiko top of mind and provide support and outstanding customer service.
* Ensure smooth and efficient cash collection, in collaboration with the finance team.
* Implement commercial policies of Grand Seiko and ensure that all activities are compliant with local regulations and corporate standards
Marketing:
* Implement an outstanding co-op marketing plan with each retailer/distributor, in partnership with the marketing teams and in line with the brand strategy and guidelines.
* Identify and propose opportunities for events, window/shop animations or advertising to promote the brand awareness and drive consumers to the POS.
* Ensure online brand presence is consistent with GS HQ guidelines.
Visual Merchandising:
* Ensure optimal and efficient brand expression at the POS by supporting Partners in implementing POS materials, windows, displays, trade accessories, furniture etc.
* Regularly check the state of POS material and fix/replace as needed to maintain brand environment consistent with merchandising standards including the use of all proper functioning elements.
* Identify and secure opportunities to improve space and visual presentation in the store.
* Update and fil reports with pictures and comments after each visit.
Assortment / Inventory Management:
* Consult with each retailer to define product assortments based on store trends, customer base, commercial objectives, and brand strategy.
* Implement an efficient order/replenishment process with each GS Partner.
* Regularly assess stock situation at POS to ensure inventory requirements are met (no overstock, availability of bestsellers, Focus 18 etc.).
* Propose solutions to address identified risks and issues (aging inventory, slow movers, overstock).
* Lead all aspects of and supervise retailer stock with current brand product assortment, aligning inventory levels to sell-out performance and stock rotation goals. Sell-in, sell-out, stock level, month of inventory and ratio sell-out/sell-in should correlate for all stores.
Requirement
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
* Up to 60% travels
* Excellent written & oral communication skills for creating correspondence
* Entrepreneurial spirit: Self-reliant, independent, self-initiating work habits with minimal direction for routine activities
* Analyzing data and market trends
* Sales training and presentation experience
* MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) - Salesforce - SAP
* Position based in Neuilly-sur-Seine (92), with travel in France and the Benelux (up to 70%)
