In order to accelerate the growth of our Beauty and Personal Care business, an opportunity has arisen for a Technical & Brand Account Manager to manage Univar Solutions' relationship with customers, brands & consultants across France to generate value technical opportunities for our key strategic suppliers.
This role will report to the Technical Manager Team Lead (Beauty & Personal Care business) and will BE responsible for developing a pipeline and growing the business to meet or exceed company growth targets within an agreed customer territory through technical promotion of the portfolio.
Main responsibilities
- Visit customers, consultants, and brands, managing and actively seeking new opportunity projects, creating effective relationships and account ownership on a technical and marketing level.
- Build and maintain an opportunity pipeline that is aligned with business objectives of Beauty & Personal Care from a technical perspective working alongside local sales and product teams to ensure high-opportunity projects get delivered on time.
- Penetrate and grow project driven growth, by leading with key supplier initiatives and leveraging Univar Solution Centres.
- Work closely with customers, consultants, and brands to better understand trends providing formulations and strong technical support to develop exclusive and innovative products.
- Support the customer's R&D department at a technical level including preparing technical presentations on cosmetic formulations.
- Support new product launches working together with suppliers' technical team and influencing positively the relationship between Univar and suppliers.
- Provide sales and product management teams with technical support on specific product lines projects.
- Representing suppliers and exchanging market information effectively between the main trading partners, maintaining compliance standards
- Keep the CRM system up to date, generating "Target Business Opportunities" that ensure growth.
- Continuously monitor market share by mapping trends, technology, regulatory changes, and competitor activity
- Respond quickly and proactively to new market segments and applications with a focus on Marketing, Supply Chain, Sales, and Product Development
- Connect and communicate to ensure all relevant industry data acquired including market information is used and shared effectively within Univar.
- Promote and follow up of all samples in timely manner.
Way of working
- Develop direct and close relationships with the customer's technical team to promote and develop the product portfolio.
- Plan your territory in order to develop the business including visits to potential and existing customers.
- Plan, prepare, execute, and follow up on customer opportunities.

- Outline a clear picture of the market : customers, applications and competitors.
- Follow the market (products, opportunities, competitors, new suppliers, new customers, etc.)
- Research and identify potential customers for products or services.
- Prepare presentations and web seminars explaining products to customers and potential customers
- Offer after-sales support and technical services, solving customer problems.
- Collaborate with other sales team members and other technical experts.
- Support marketing by attending trade fairs, conferences and other marketing or technical events.
- Provide pre-sales technical assistance and product training where required.
- Participate in fairs and seminars to promote products or learn about developments in the sector.
- Stay informed on industry news and trends, products, competitors, existing and emerging technologies and on the latest developments of the product line.
- Participate in training courses and seminars on suppliers to improve and update personal understanding of products and application experience.
- Ensure that the prospect of customers and suppliers is a driving force behind corporate decisions and activities.
- Anticipate and effectively meet the needs of customers and suppliers, taking responsability for their satisfaction and loyalty.
- Improve and update personal product comprehension and application experience through training, seminars, and marketing sources as requested.
