Organisation Overview

Based on maritime façades in Toulon and Brest, DGA Techniques navales specializes in naval systems across various domains including surface and submarine naval platforms, naval combat systems, naval communications, naval robotics, mine warfare, and command support. Part of the naval platforms division, the "Coques Structures" (CS) group primarily provides state expertise related to the resistance and integrity of structures and the vulnerability of ships to submarine weapon effects.


Mission Details

As a technical expert, you will lead the CS group activities concerning the resistance of surface ship structures and ensure the technical standards and their updates. Your work involves ensuring the safety of surface ships in normal and accidental environments, supporting new ship programs during development and construction phases, and monitoring the active fleet. You will develop expertise in project management, experimental and numerical studies of hull and structural domains, requiring advanced skills in structural mechanics, material behavior, and fatigue resistance of welded assemblies. The resistance of structures to underwater explosion shocks is also within your scope.


Candidate Profile

Engineering degree or equivalent in structural mechanics. A minimum of 5 years of professional experience with solid skills in numerical structural calculations, including proficiency with FEMAP/NASTRAN and ABAQUS software. Knowledge of Bureau Veritas software (Hydrostar, Homer) is a significant advantage. Specific experience in naval structural resistance is essential.

You are agile, dynamic, autonomous, proactive, and able to communicate and persuade effectively. Rigor in technical reporting and specifications is crucial. Good relationships with state and industrial stakeholders are expected.

Fluent English (written and spoken) is required.
