VP Operations
The VP Operations is responsible for leading all manufacturing and operational activities at the Sarralbe & Niort sites. This strategic role ensures the delivery of operational excellence, continuous improvement, and alignment with corporate objectives. The role requires a dynamic, hands‑on leader capable of balancing strategic vision with operational execution, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and high performance.
The Head of Operations oversees all operational functions across Leach International Europe, including Manufacturing, Maintenance, Supply Chain, Industrialization and Continuous Improvement. The role is pivotal in driving transformation to support profitable growth, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction across the aerospace, defense, and rail sectors.
Strategic Purpose
* Achieving world‑class performance in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC).
* Ensuring full compliance with regulatory and customer requirements.
* Supporting customer satisfaction and operational readiness for future aerospace programs and technologies.
Key Focus Area
* Ensure full compliance with AS9100, EASA/FAA, and customer‑specific requirements.
* Lead digital and lean transformation initiatives (Industry 4.0).
* Oversee site production operations, drive industrialization initiatives, and lead the successful ramp‑up of new programs.
* Foster a culture of performance, safety, and employee engagement.
Operational Leadership
* Lead all operational departments including manufacturing, supply chain, production control, logistics, maintenance, and support cross‑functions (quality & procurement).
* Achieve and exceed targets for on‑time delivery, inventory optimization, productivity, and cost efficiency.
* Oversee CAPEX planning and execution, drive productivity and efficiency initiatives.
* Ensure effective coordination between operations and engineering management on new project (NPI).
* Manage production and supply planning, capacity optimization, and resource allocation.
* Deploy and monitor operational KPIs and performance dashboards.
Industrial Strategy & Transformation
* Define and implement the industrial strategy in alignment with corporate goals and market demands.
* Lead Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement programs to enhance operational efficiency.
* Support the industrialization of new products, technology transfers, and program ramp‑ups.
* Drive digital transformation initiatives including ERP, MES, and data‑driven performance tools.
* Contribute to global make‑or‑buy and localization strategies in coordination with Group leadership.
Quality, Compliance & Customer Satisfaction
* Ensure compliance with AS9100, EN9100, ISO 9001, and customer‑specific standards.
* Promote a zero‑defect culture and right‑first‑time manufacturing mindset.
* Oversee supplier quality and continuous improvement programs.
* Support internal and customer audits, certifications, and regulatory inspections.
* Collaborate with Engineering and Sales management to ensure flawless execution and customer satisfaction.
Leadership & Organizational Development
* Build, lead, and develop a high‑performing operations leadership team.
* Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
* Partner with HR to develop talent pipelines and succession planning.
* Promote cross‑functional collaboration and alignment with global Leach entities.
Financial & Strategic Accountability
* Develop and manage operational budgets aligned with strategic business objectives.
* Optimize working capital through effective inventory and supply chain management.
* Contribute to strategic planning, investment decisions, and industrial footprint optimization.
* Actively participate in Executive Committee meetings and strategic decision‑making.
Customer & Business Alignment
* Engage with customers to understand needs and demonstrate operational capabilities.
* Collaborate with engineering and commercial teams to deliver innovative, cost‑effective solutions.
* Support business development through operational excellence and agility.
Process & Technical Excellence
* Standardize and continuously improve operational processes.
* Ensure robust technical support and documentation for all production activities.
* Implement best‑in‑class inventory and materials management practices.
* Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing operations.
* Proven track record in high‑mix/low‑volume production environments; aerospace industry experience preferred.
* Strong leadership, communication, and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
* Strategic thinker with a hands‑on approach to execution.
* Demonstrated ability to lead transformation and drive performance improvement.
* High integrity, customer‑centric mindset, and data‑driven decision‑making.
* Experience in managing complex industrial projects and cross‑border teams.
