We’re seeking a Mainframe Architect to lead the modernization of mission-critical legacy systems into agile, cloud-ready infrastructures. This role is ideal for someone passionate about transforming traditional mainframe environments through z/OS upgrades, ETL-to-microservices transitions, and cloud migrations.


The Role

As a Mainframe Architect, you’ll serve as the technical leader across complex transformation projects. From initial discovery to final delivery, you’ll collaborate with stakeholders, design tailored solutions, and ensure successful implementation, all while driving innovation and excellence.


Key Responsibilities

* Lead modernization initiatives for mainframe systems, including infrastructure upgrades and cloud transitions.
* Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions.
* Act as a subject matter expert and technical advisor throughout the project lifecycle.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including delivery, governance, and external vendors.
* Ensure solutions meet business goals, technical standards, and budget constraints.


What You Bring

Required:

* Deep expertise in mainframe database technologies (e.g., IBM DB2™, IMS, Adabas, Datacom).
* Strong knowledge of z/OS, JCL, JES, RACF/ACF2, CICS, COBOL, PL/1, SQL, Natural.
* Experience in performance tuning, capacity planning, and high availability.
* Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
* A strong understanding of the business value of modernization.


Preferred:

* Experience with hybrid cloud environments and major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
* Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Kanban, SAFe, Scrum).
* Advanced certifications in relevant technologies.
* Knowledge of enterprise architecture and technical blueprinting.
