Organization Overview
Located on the maritime coasts of Toulon and Brest, DGA Techniques navales specializes in naval systems, including surface and submarine platforms, naval combat systems, naval communications, naval robotics, mine warfare, and command aids. The division employs nearly 500 engineers. The Vulnerability, Security, and Military Aggressions group (VSA), part of the naval platforms division, provides state expertise in vulnerability, pyrotechnic security of onboard munitions, and assessment of military aggressions on naval platforms, including underwater detonics and pyrotechnic testing instrumentation.
Mission Description
You will serve as an expert within the VSA group, focusing on ship vulnerability to military and asymmetric threats and onboard munitions security. Your work will involve current and future ships (next-generation aircraft carriers, corvettes, patrol boats, etc.). You will be proficient with numerical simulation tools (training provided upon hiring) and coordinate theoretical, numerical, and experimental studies in collaboration with industry, universities, and other DGA centers.
Candidate Profile
Graduated engineer or equivalent, preferably with training in pyrotechnics, or alternatively in mechanics of continuous media or naval architecture. You are autonomous, proactive, meticulous, and have a strong technical interest along with good synthesis skills for presenting analyses. Willing to travel within France and undertake occasional onboard deployments with the Navy are required. French nationality is mandatory. The position requires specific security clearances (Defense security, electrical and ionizing radiation awareness) and medical fitness for embarkation.
