Newable is a next-generation energy operator with a strong real estate focus, dedicated to accelerating the journey towards net zero for commercial real estate landlords. By leveraging data-driven renewable energy facilities and an attractive value creation model, we aim to make net zero a simple and profitable venture for landlords.

We are a mission-driven startup transforming the way commercial buildings are powered. Our goal is to replace carbon-based energy sources with decentralized renewable energy systems. But we don’t stop there: we operate and optimize these systems through advanced software and AI, key levers for both our environmental & financial performance.

We are looking for a CTO to join the team and lead all things tech, data, and AI.


Mission

As CTO, you will be responsible for delivering the tech roadmap. You’ll start by building the MVP, then test & iterate on real conditions, to progressively scale up the platform that manages decentralized renewable assets across multiple sites. You will work hand in hand with the founders on product strategy, technical architecture, hiring, and execution.

We’re building a fully data-driven digitalized process – from energy system’s initial design to deployment and operation. As we grow, software will be at the core of our scalability and impact.

Key Responsibilities

* Design and build the product : from initial design interface to operation data product combining prediction, recommendation and optimization of the energy system’s control.
* Define the long-term tech and data architecture (software, cloud infrastructure, IoT/data ingestion, AI/ML layers)
* Lead the development of AI features
* Recruit, structure and manage the tech team as we scale
* Collaborate with sales, operations, and energy experts to ensure continuous product-market fit
* Own the technological vision and ensure alignment with business goals
* Ensure data security, scalability and interoperability of the platform

Who You Are

* Strong technical background and experience with modern languages (software engineering, data/ML).
* Previous experience building and scaling tech products (startup or scale-up experience is a plus)
* You know how to gather expertise around yourself to deal with hardware / IoT topics related to energy tech
* Entrepreneurial mindset - hands-on, fast-moving, resourceful
* You care about climate and want your work to have a tangible impact
* You can start solo and willing to build and lead a team as the company grows
* Bonus: knowledge of the energy sector (procurement, flexibility, HVAC, BMS, etc.)
