ET&O builds, implements and maintains the business systems and technology that are critical for delivering Warner Bros. Discovery’s products, while articulating the long-term technology strategy that will enable Warner Bros. Discovery’s growing pay-tv, digital terrestrial, free-to-air and online services to reach more audiences on more platforms.

Your new role

The Network Engineer will be responsible for working with the operations and engineering teams around the strategic, tactical, and improvement of the global network platforms. The individual will be evaluating processes regularly to ensure expected outcomes are achieved in the most efficient way along with identifying service improvements and document those improvements. Help ensure standards and processes are followed.

Key Responsibilities

1. Effectively support of all DCI network infrastructure by responding to and resolving all trouble tickets within the stipulated SLA time – 30%

2. Deliver the projects according to the customer needs following the standards and the designs defined – 30%

3. Clearly understand the root cause of all the network outages and take remediation steps to prevent the recurrence of the problem – 10%

4. Ability to prioritize work based on business criticalities and be flexible to work on ad hoc tasks as assigned by the manager – 10%

5. Fully understand and adhere to the team’s network standards and procedures both in technical and functional areas – 10%

6. Maintain positive relationships with all user communities, peers and the management team – 10%

7. Perform other duties as needed

Requirements

8. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Information Systems or similar

9. Minimum of 4 years of experience in network administration in an enterprise production environment

10. English speaking is mandatory

11. Advanced skills with either Juniper or Cisco/Arista platforms

12. Strong skills with network protocols, standards and policies - BGP / OSPF / STP

13. Excellent troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills

14. Understanding of remote access, DNS, DHCP and IPAM platforms, monitoring tools

15. Understanding Palo Alto (preferred) or other firewall platforms

16. Knowledge about optics, L1 compatibility, cable matrix

17. Strong team member with self-motivation and desires to improve the infrastructure

18. Strong and consistent customer service and communication skills

19. Process oriented engineer with strong execution and follow-through skills

20. Able to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize self

21. Willingness to learn and progress in different areas

22. Willingness to work a flexible schedule

23. Participating to the On-call rotation

24. Minimal travel anticipated for this position

25. Must have the legal right to work in Europe (Paris)

Preferred qualifications/experience

26. Data Center experience with spine and leaf environment

27. Experience working with Multicast – PIM, SSM, MVPN - would be appreciated

28. Media industry experience: Sports/TV networking knowledge

29. Scripting capabilities for automation
