Description du sujet
The topic of thesis is Radiology 4.0. Its goal is to answer the following open research question: how to develop a Digital Twin (DT) of the radiology ecosystem over a given territory based on Artificial Intelligence (AI), an Internet-of-Things (IoT) and fog computing and leverage it to provide agile radiology resources allocation over the territory that maximizes resource utilization and radiology report quality while minimizing the time patients wait for an appointment and taking into account all the relevant economic, logistic, sanitary, regulatory and deontological constraints.
This question intersects two fields of study: (a) transdisciplinary multi-concern continuously updated models of large scale complex systems involving a variety of human actors and (b) adaptive multi-objective optimization.

Présentation établissement et labo d'accueilCentre de Recherche en Informatique - Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne
University Panthéon-Sorbonne was created in 1970 from the division of the University of Paris, which dated back to 1150, into 13 independent universities some of which have recently merged back. It is ranked at the best French university in Law and Economics.
Its Center for Research in Informatics (CRI) is carrying out computer science research in requirements engineering, model-driven product-line engineering, context-aware self-adaptive and pervasive information system engineering, heuristic optimization, constraint programming, verifiable artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, software defined networking, blockchain, business process modeling and mining and social network mining. Being part of a university with leading law and economics departments offers CRI the opportunity to develop distinctive interdisciplinary research requiring fine-grained and theoretically well-founded modeling and automated reasoning about regulatory and socio-economic concerns.
CRI already collaborates with industrial partner NEHS in the European Commission funded project AI4EU A European On-Demand Artificial Intelligence Platform and Ecosystem (https://www.ai4eu.eu/). It also currently collaborates with Thales, IBM and HP Enterprise in the European Commission funded project C4IIoT Cybersecurity for the Industrial Internet-of-Things (https://www.c4iiot.eu/).
A subsidiary of group NEHS (Nouvelle Entreprise Humaine en Santé), NEHS Digital who will fund this research is the French leader in telemedicine, teleradiology, medical imaging processing and ERP networks for independent and hospital radiology centers. The scientific results of the PhD. Thesis and the proof-of-concept software demonstrator developed during it will serve as a roadmap for the commercial development of the first radiology 4.0 solution on the market.
The PhD. research will build on top of NEHS’ expertise in engineering innovative large scale healthcare information systems and the curated big data stored in its cloud.
The research will be conducted in average three days a week at NEHS Digital’s office in Malakoff, a suburb bordering Paris’ 14th district and CRI’s located in nearby Paris’ 13th district.
