Assystem, a major partner of EDF, Edvance, and Framatome, supports clients in developing their projects, from safety studies to the design of new reactors in France (EPR Flamanville 3, EPR2) and internationally (Hinkley Point C, Jaitapur). Based in Montrouge or at the client’s site, the safety engineer’s responsibilities are diverse:
1. Conduct internal (fire, flooding, load drops, pipe rupture) and external (earthquake, weather events) aggression studies according to applicable standards.
2. Perform functional safety analyses (loss of functions/equipment, Fukushima studies).
3. Produce accident studies and probabilistic safety, conventional risk analyses.
4. Draft chapters of the safety report (RDS or PCSR).
5. Assess impacts of modifications on safety analyses.
6. Coordinate aggression activities shared among different client entities (reporting, technical follow-up).
7. Write justification notes for authorities (French or international safety authorities).
Depending on experience and motivation, you may also provide technical support and team supervision during studies.

Ideal candidate profile:
* Graduate of a general engineering or nuclear safety engineering program.
* Minimum 2 years’ experience in safety studies or risk analysis in the nuclear sector.
* Rigorous, versatile, autonomous, with strong interpersonal skills.
* Excellent analytical, synthesis, and writing skills.
* Knowledge of PWR/EPR plant operations, incident management, and safety doctrines (RDS, PCSR, RGE, STE) is preferred.
* Proficiency in English is essential.
