The Barista/Sales Associate is responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction. They serve beverages to customers and manage the café's beverage inventory. They are able to prepare and serve both hot and cold drinks for the establishment's clientele. They are expected to understand, master, and apply the sales and service techniques defined by the Commercial Department as well mastering the barista know how.


MISSIONS & ACTIVITÉS


1. Representing the Pierre Hermé Paris Brand

- Greet and assist customers in a courteous and professional manner.
- Promote the establishment's products with enthusiasm and product knowledge.
- Contribute to customer loyalty and retention.
- Comply with presentation standards: clean, complete uniform; appropriate grooming and hygiene.
- Communicate with polished and refined language.
- Maintain a demeanor that reflects high-end, luxury service.
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of the products.
- Understand and represent the identity and values of Maison Pierre Hermé Paris.
- Follow all procedures and guidelines established by the Maison.


2. Sales, Customer Interaction, and Service

- Maintain a warm, welcoming, and approachable attitude.
- Be attentive, responsive, and available to customers.
- Use personalized greetings both in person and over the phone.
- Provide tailored advice using precise, brand-appropriate vocabulary.
- Analyze sales performance and apply insights to customer interaction.
- Identify customer needs through effective questioning techniques.
- Stimulate customer interest and encourage additional purchases (upselling).
- Apply sales rituals: serve, wrap, and present purchases with care.
- Contribute to customer retention strategies.
- Assist in creating and updating sales materials.
- Offer expert guidance on beverage selections.
- Handle transactions accurately and securely.
- Take and prepare customer orders.
- Provide table service as required.

3. Beverage Preparation

- Follow and apply technical specification sheets.
- Prepare a variety of beverages according to customer requests and brand standards.

4. Supply Management and Setup

- Ensure proper restocking, setup, and service at the bar in full compliance with hygiene and safety standards.
- Evaluate daily supply needs and conduct monthly inventory of equipment.
- Organize and display products and materials effectively.
- Perform daily checks on equipment, materials, and selected products
Technical Skills

- Adjust work pace in response to customer flow variations.
- Adapt language and behavior to a diverse clientele.
- Apply current regulations regarding alcohol service.
- Ensure accurate and efficient billing and payment processing.
- Demonstrate a strong sense of hospitality.
- Maintain seamless and fluid service delivery.
- Show creativity and initiative.
- Possess strong visual memory.
- Innovate and suggest new product ideas.
- Organize task distribution among team members (when applicable).
- Maintain a clean, efficient, and well-structured workstation.
- Follow production processes while respecting both quantitative and qualitative standards.
- Use sensory evaluation skills (smell and taste) to assess product quality
