Job Description:
Eiffage Génie Civil est présente dans l’ensemble des spécialités du génie civil. Ses équipes interviennent depuis la conception jusqu’à la construction, mais aussi en réparation, maintenance, et démolition, sur de nombreux ouvrages en France et à l’international.
MISSIONS
1. Manage teams
2. Present the building site, its challenges, risks, and the construction works to be completed by all their teams
3. Set objectives for their employees
4. Support teams’ professionalization and upskilling and manage HR processes within the scope of their responsibility
5. Encourage professional best practices and govern improper conduct
6. Building site preparation
7. Study the contract documentation (general conditions of contract, technical documentation), price studies and the strategic choices made by the agency manager (transfer meeting)
8. Perform administrative procedures within the lead times (road network authorization, DICT – declaration of the intention to begin work, etc.)
9. Check the building site’s actual conditions (plot, additional studies, construction methods, environment, surveys, core sampling, etc.), define the building site installation and access plan, and establish the Health and Safety Protection/Prevention (PPSPP) and Quality Assurance plans
10. Define the resources – human (teams, skill sets and availability), material, equipment and financial – required to properly complete the construction works
11. Prepare and present the operation’s estimated budget for approval by superior(s)
12. Establish the overall and provisional schedule and determine the return on investment (ROI) (ratios)
13. Set up consultations, analyze offers, negotiate conditions and draw up contracts together with the Purchasing Department
14. Place orders with sub-contractors and suppliers, together with the Purchasing Department
15. Initiate certification filing requests from sub-contractors
16. Ensure the full completion of construction studies (plans, design briefs, etc.) as well as the full optimization of these studies
Monitoring of the building site’s construction
1. Organize, schedule and manage the construction works, and ensure proper contractual management
2. Participate in building site meetings and chair coordination meetings with sub-contractors/suppliers
3. Ensure that guidelines, standards and rules are applied, specifically concerning health and safety
4. Perform technical controls during construction (materials, production of materials on the building site, compliance with the plan, etc.) and decide on any corrections to be made
5. Ensure budget monitoring of construction works, analyze deviations from the estimated budget and optimize the results (income statement, earnings and cash position)
6. Ensure the appropriate formalities in case of any amendments to, or extension of, the construction works
7. Set the Site Supervisor’s objectives to guarantee delivery of the construction works in accordance with client practices (cost, quality, lead times)
8. Present construction works progress and issue monthly invoicing, establish requests for advances with the client; focus on their building site’s cash flow (invoices to be issued (“FAE”) and Receivables)
Quality, Prevention, Security and Environment
1. Ensure full application of guidelines, procedures and rules to complete the construction works as well as overseeing individual and collective security on the building site
2. Monitor the quality of the completed construction works within planned lead times
3. Manage environmental constraints and ensure the full adoption of the corresponding measures
4. Organize the planned security prevention measures
Delivery of the constructions
1. Request the acceptance of the works and obtain the contractual documentation (final general statement, acceptance statement, certificate of competency, etc.) in collaboration with the business manager
2. Resolve deviations and provide feedback
3. Establish and initiate invoicing, verifying sub-contractor statements and following up on collection together with the Finance and Accounting Manager (RAF)
4. Where required, file a claim and submit it for approval to their line manager
Business relations and business development
1. Ensure regular contact with known clients
2. Identify potential new opportunities and work on them with the relevant in-house departments
3. Manage changes to the initial workload and optimize the financial result
Specific activities
* Metal Construction Works Supervisor: Oversee the mission of the Project Engineering Operations Manager (ROM), managing assembly and processes
* Nuclear Works Supervisor: Operate in and outside restricted areas, ensure nuclear safety training, check credentials, and manage radiation safety
* Demolition/Decontamination Works Supervisor: Receive waste tracking slips, update waste records, understand asbestos handling procedures, and monitor analytical results
Job requirements
Significant experience as a Site Supervisor or Works Engineer
Authorizations may be required based on the position held, such as H0-B0 electrics authorization
Work environment
Reporting line: Site Manager, Works Director, Operational Manager, Sector Manager
Internal relations include engineering consultants, support departments, site supervisors, team leaders, journeymen, etc.
External relations include subcontractors, clients, design consultants, suppliers, local residents, work inspectorate, CARSAT, OPPBTP, etc.
What we are looking for
Degree: Engineer degree (BAC +5), ideally in civil or hydraulic engineering
Experience:
* At least 4 years of experience in a similar role
* Knowledge of hydraulic structures like STEP, UTEP, Reservoirs, Pumping stations, and small to medium-sized structures is a plus
Skills:
* Proficiency with basic IT tools (Word, Excel, etc.) and document drafting
* Good interpersonal skills and management qualities
* Reactivity, rigor, and organizational skills
