This 12-month contract position is supporting the plant breeding group and especially the North Early corn Evaluation Zone in Pacé, Brittany, France. The position mainly supports nursery activities, inbred seed management and molecular breeding activities but also some other research activities in trialing and data management. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: For the Evaluation Zone Support Prepare files needed for Breeding Decision meetings. Supervise assigned projects (inbred maintenance, genomic predictions, hybrid production) to support our breeding community. For the Breeding Program Support Evaluate field experiments and collaborate to have a phenotyping of excellence. Supervise nursery activities including inbred scoring and characterization. Take key role in a breeding deployment program in corn including hands-on phenotypic and genetic analysis. Plan new experiments and tasks with research manager and breeder support. Continuous learning of new technology adaptation and efficient work processes. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES NEEDED : 1. MSc in plant breeding, agronomy or related field 2. Ideally professional experience in plant research 3. Fluency in English and French is required 4. Knowledge in data management and data analysis 5. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail 6. Self-motivation and willingness to work in a team 7. Knowledge in genetics, plant breeding, statistics, and molecular biology.
