Mission
We are launching a flagship initiative aimed at identifying, connecting, and empowering high-potential public sector leaders across the African continent.
As we enter a new growth phase, we are seeking a visionary yet hands-on Director to lead the initiative’s execution, development, and strategic influence. This is a hybrid role, combining program design and delivery, stakeholder relations, editorial coordination, and ecosystem-building.
Program Leadership & Execution
* Lead the design and operational rollout of the initiative: from recruitment to programming, content production, community building, and events.
* Manage detailed project plans in collaboration with internal teams (editorial, research, design, commercial, logistics) and external experts, consultants, and institutions.
Thought Leadership & Editorial Strategy
* Define and drive the initiative’s content and research agenda, producing original insights, interviews, thought pieces, and case studies on public leadership and governance in Africa.
* Supervise the creation of high-profile editorial assets, in collaboration with the newsroom and data team.
Community & Ecosystem Engagement
* Oversee the animation of a growing community of public sector professionals, ensuring engagement across events and digital platforms.
* Build and nurture relationships with senior public officials, multilateral agencies, development actors, and government advisors.
Program Development & Partnerships
* Identify opportunities to expand the initiative: new program formats, research partnerships, monetization avenues.
* Co-develop customized offers for sponsors, foundations, and institutional partners in collaboration with the commercial team.
* Support the initiative’s evolution into a standalone strategic and business unit, aligned with the Group’s mission.
Budget & Impact Monitoring
* Define and manage the annual budget with rigor, ensuring financial sustainability and operational efficiency.
* Track impact and performance indicators (engagement, reach, influence, satisfaction), and iterate for continuous improvement.
Profil
* 8–12 years of experience in project management, consulting, public affairs, or media.
* Demonstrated ability to lead complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives from strategy to execution.
* Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to align diverse teams around a common vision.
* Deep interest in public sector reform, governance, and African leadership.
* Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills, including comfort in high-level institutional environments.
* Full professional proficiency in both English and French is required.
* Experience working with or within African public institutions or global development organizations is strongly preferred
