Technical Lead – Secure Microchip Design
A leading international semiconductor player is seeking a Technical Lead to join their R&D team. This opportunity is with a highly innovative, security-focused technology company delivering secure element products to mobile operators, financial institutions, and biometric identity applications.
You’ll be joining a dynamic R&D group while working in a focused “start-up style” design unit that is part of a much larger global organisation. This role sits at the intersection of cutting-edge chip architecture, product integration, and digital verification for secure smartcard SoCs.Role Overview:
As a Technical Lead, you will take ownership of product feasibility, architecture definition, and verification for secure microcontroller-based SoCs. You’ll collaborate closely with analog, RF, test, and software teams from early-stage design through to final product delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead digital design and verification projects from specification through to mass production
* Contribute to feasibility studies and architecture definition for secure element SoCs
* Integrate and verify digital IP blocks and top-level SoC design
* Develop and maintain robust verification methodologies and simulation environments
* Define and implement DFT (Design for Test) strategies
* Support post-silicon validation and debugging efforts in collaboration with software, test, and quality teams
* Contribute to European research projects and technology roadmap initiatives
* Drive improvements across design and verification methodologies
* Ensure quality throughout all development stages, including validation, characterisation, and qualification reviews
Candidate Profile:
* Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering (or equivalent)
* Strong experience experience in digital design or SoC development with integrated microcontrollers
* Proficient in Verilog, SystemVerilog or VHDL
* Hands-on with standard digital design tools: RTL simulation, synthesis, STA, and formal verification (Synopsys/Cadence)
* Familiar with scripting languages (TCL, Python)
